Rabbi Jeni S. Friedman
 

Rabbi Jeni Friedman serves as the Assistant Rabbi at Temple Beth Sholom. She was ordained from the Jewish Theological Seminary of America and holds an additional Master's Degree in Midrash from the JTS Graduate school. She received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Jewish Studies (Rabbinic Literature) and English Literature (Creative Writing) from the University of Judaism. After the completion of her undergraduate studies she spent two years studying at the Conservative Yeshiva in Jerusalem before entering JTS.

Hailing from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, Rabbi Friedman's early love of Jewish camp experiences led her to spend many summers in both formal and informal Jewish educational settings in Jewish camping, and Adult and family learning, serving as the director of Limudei Yahadut (Jewish Studies) at Camp Ramah in Wisconsin, the Rabbinic Intern for JTS' Wagner Adult Education Institute and the Director of Congregation Bnai Jeshurun's Adult Hebrew Education Institute.

She has served as the Shabbat programming coordinator for the Memorial Foundation for Jewish Culture's Nahum Goldmann Fellowship an international Fellowship that brings together Jewish professional and lay leadership from around the world. Her work with the Memorial Foundation has taken her to Australia, Sweden, Uruguay and Jerusalem. Rabbi Friedman's was also a teacher and curriculum writer for Project ENGAJE, a pilot program of New York's Bureau of Jewish Education for Early Childhood Educators. She currently sits on Project ENGAJE's Advisory Board.

At Beth Sholom, Rabbi Friedman instituted the extremely popular Mishpacha Minyan, started a Shabbat Parashat HaShavua class, a book group for Early Childhood parents and helped create our Tikun Committee which actively undertakes social action projects in our community. She is also a favorite Adult Education instructor.
